Keep in mind that these are guidelines. Every rule has its exceptions and there is no way we can anticipate every question or circumstance that may arise. Don't hesitate to call or email with questions.

A GOOD RULE OF THUMB: A QUALITY PHOTO WILL REPRODUCE A QUALITY END PRODUCT
Almost any photo or digital file can be worked with, but the better the print or digital file the better the end result will be. Bright vivid colors with good contrast and open or light shadows will produce the best canvas print.

Color Or Black & White Prints and Slides: A good print created from a film negative will usually reproduce in a quality matter. Slides will reproduce consistent with the quality of the original. Keep in mind that photos that are out of focus or blurred CAN NOT be refocused.

Digital Files: These can be used and will most often be fine. But a higher Megapixel photo is better. Megapixel refers to the number of pixels in a photo a 1 megapixel photo is 1 million pixels, a 6 Megapixel photo is 6 million pixels. MORE IS BETTER. Do not expect that a 1 megapixel file can be enlarged very far. And Keep in mind even if you take the digital file and have a print made. The final enlarged file may show imperfections inherent in small files. FILE FORMATS. TIF, JPEG, PSD, EPS, SCITEX CT, files over 5 megs should be supplied on disk.
NOTE: of late a question of camera phone shots has arisen. These are to small to create a quality enlargement.

INK JET Prints: These can be used. But are not preferred. Remember that the quality of the original photo along with the quality of the printer and paper used will affect the quality of the final product. A inkjet print made from a digital file may look fine at 2x3 or 4x5 but enlarged may not produce the quality desired.

Polaroid's: These can be used. But are not preferred. A Polaroid should be in the best possible shape and again quality will be Key.

Photography Copyrights: This is YOUR responsibility and DSG can not be held liable for photos supplied.

Retouching / Cropping: Photos can be enhanced or repaired through retouching. Any photo can be cropped or altered as requested by the customer. Please be very specific and if possible supply a hardcopy (paper) or file of exactly what you would like done to your photo. In cases where major enhancements or changes are made a PDF proof may be supplied along with an Approval Sheet that will need to be signed off by the customer and returned to DSG.

Originals: Photos that are one of a kind should have a copy made if possible. DSG DOES NOT insure your photo. All will be shipped using a ground carrier so that they can be tracked and an e-mail will be sent to you confirming receipt and shipment of your product. ALL PHOTOS EITHER PHYSICAL OR DIGITAL THAT ARRIVE ARE ARCHIVED. And can be ordered again or if need a replacement photo can be supplied at an additional charge.

Sending Photos: Photos sent by ground carrier or mail should be packed carefully with stiff cardboard on both sides and marked"DO NOT BEND - PHOTOGRAPHS". Mailed or shipped to DSG.
